Dear friends, brothers and sisters,

We are thrilled to share our ideas, plans and vision for our new church plant.

Some time ago, God gave us the desire to pray about and plant a new Russian-English church in the city of Orlando. God has blessed us with a team of seven individuals to assist in the launch of the new church. Central Florida has approximately 40,000 Russian speaking individuals, most of which have never heard the good news. Based on this need, we wish to establish a new church in South Orlando/Kissimmee area. Currently, our team is in the beginning stages, preparing for the new church plant. We are planning and discussing the style of future services, talking about finances, searching for a potential venue to gather, praying for one another to become a strong team in Christ, studying the word of God and listening to seminars that focus on new church plants. Thus far, we have created our church email, our Facebook page and church website.

The name that our team has decided on is City on a Hill. This name is based on Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.

We want our church’s purpose to be: spreading the gospel, reaching individuals, and creating disciples for Jesus Christ.

Our service will be bilingual. At the beginning, service will be in Russian, but we will be working towards a parallel interpretation to English as soon as we are able to find a good interpreter. When we finally find a venue, we will launch our Sunday service. In September, we will be kicking off our small groups. First we will start with one in an area with a large number of Russian speaking people. As soon as the first group grows in size we will create another one, so that we are able to reach out to more individuals. We hope to draw youth, children and their families to our church community through sports, English classes and Bible studies. A big project that we are praying to get involved with is an already established Russian School organization. This project will give us a huge opportunity to work with children and their parents who have not been exposed to the gospel.

We want City on a Hill to be an influential church in the community. We see the need to aide those who have recently relocated to the area and need help understanding the American culture and language. To help them obtain an education, and find affordable housing and employment. In order to start working towards these goals we will need the assistance of other local community churches and believers. We need to find a convenient venue to host our Sunday worship service and other church events. Also we’re in need of donations and financial assistance for us to be able to support our Senior Pastor, church staff and missionary groups. In the future, by the grace of God, we hope to become a financially self-sufficient organization.

Please join us in prayer for the following;

1. Our church leadership team (Peter, Ludmila, Evelina, Denis, Marina, Yuriy and Tatyana).

For each leader to be filled with the Holy Spirit and have power.

For the opportunity to spread the gospel using correct methods and to be able to support those in need.

To organize all church events with thought and according to Gods will.

2. So we clearly see God’s will for our church in worship, spreading the gospel, making disciples, and fellowship and to guide our team according to His will and the word.

3. Pray for ministers who thirst for an opportunity to use their spiritual gifts for Gods glory and to send ministers to join our church team.

4. For God to give us guidance and wisdom for organization of small groups, Bible studies and Sunday worship services.

5. For the individuals that we will be reaching out to that need to hear the gospel, so they would be open and ready to accept Gods call.

6. For the revival of South Orlando/Kissimmee area and it’s surrounding counties, where we plan to serve.

We want to thank you for your continued prayer and participation in this new church plant project. May the peace and grace of God and Jesus Christ be with you!

Senior Pastor,

Peter Kipko
