Multiplying churches reproduce leaders on all levels. GOBA provides leadership development opportunities for pastors, church staff and volunteer leaders. This is accomplished in groups of 10-15 participants growing together as leaders and leadership multipliers. We call it Greater Orlando Adventures in Leadership.
G.O.A.L. is a strategic tool for those desiring to be trained personally and to train the next generation of pastors, church planters and church revitalizers in North America and around the world. Our desire is to equip our pastors, planters, and future revitalizers right in the local church. It is our desire to provide a new paradigm that bridges the formal theological education at an on campus institution and connect formal, experiential, and interactive in a church based design.
For almost a decade we have been providing peer leadership training through a local church and association based design that takes new potential leaders and young leaders into deeper church based teaching. Presently we have 45 students in either our year one (GOAL ONE) or year two (GOAL TWO) leadership development training. Almost one hundred new leaders have been trained in either Spanish or English to minister right here in central Florida.
The bridge plan for the Greater Orlando Adventures in Leadership is to begin the development of a leader through our first two years training and then through GOAL Three begin to prepare those new potential leaders and young leaders for a transition into an academic arena which allows the pastor/leader to achieve either a bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree through online learning. This allows the spiritual and academic development to be a church based theological education process that allows our young leaders to remain in central Florida serving and growing our GOBA churches.
Our desire and prayer is that the Lord God will use the Greater Orlando Baptist Association and G.O.A.L. to raise up a new and vibrant generation of pastors, church planters and church revitalizers to impact not only the surrounding counties of central Florida but globally through church planting movements worldwide. We need five vibrant New Testament churches within the Greater Orlando Baptist Association to accept the challenge of an association and church based education system. Our desire is to maintain a high quality of education while field based learning occurs through in service experience in genuine communities of faith. We recognize the need for academic credentials but further seek to offer church based credentialing.
