Church Community Outreach

missional activities

The Greater Orlando Baptist Association Community Ministries can help you and your church learn ”HOW TO” begin a community ministry. We are willing to walk with you through the what, where, when, and how of starting a new outreach into ones ministry area. The question is, “how can we find and fill a need in our church community?” We can help by connecting, training, and working with those who feel led to start a new ministry and help find resources. It is our desire to see our GOBA churches embrace the need for taking the churches ministry out into their communities.

Looking for ways to do community ministry? May we suggest you contact either our Church Planting Director or our Church Revitalization Assistance Team and inquire ways which your church might become part of our 3in365 initiative. Taking one's church out and assisting with either a new church plant or a church that is in the midst of being revitalized is a wonderful way to reach a community for Christ. It might be your church helping with a picnic in the park for a new plant. Others might give of an evening or a weekend to help a church renewal effort by working in a Block Party or a Saturation Saturday Community Outreach event. We will be glad to assist you and your church discover ways to touch not only your community with the Gospel, but Central Florida as well by working together with churches that are in need of assistance in conducting an evangelistic event.

We believe that there are several areas the Bible tells us to be involved in ministry (Matthew 25:35). This is for those outside of the church… the hungry, the naked, the strangers, the sick, and those in prison. Then if we think further there are institutions such as hospitals, jails, shelters, halfway houses, and group homes for the physical or mentally challenged. Then there are needs caused by disasters, health issues, and military service. Every Christian has the privilege to do a job, and that job is part of the work that Christ is finalizing in His creation.

If you and your church are interested in volunteering to reach out through the Greater Orlando Baptist Association Community Ministries Team, please give us a call and we will be glad to work with you to help you discover the various and delightful options for ministry through your church.
